Surgery
Surgeons at University of Missouri Health Care provide diagnostic, operative and nonoperative management and postoperative care for adults and children with surgical disorders. Treatment is provided by a competent and caring team of surgeons, nurses and staff. Surgeons are available for both adult and pediatric emergency cases 24 hours a day.
More than 68,000 patients visit the surgical clinics each year and approximately 13,400 surgical procedures are performed per year. Many of these procedures are performed in the Same Day Surgery Center, offering patients an early return to normal daily activities.
In addition to providing state-of-the-art surgical care, members of our health care team also educate future health care providers and conduct important research.
MU Health Care is one of the most comprehensive health care networks in the midwest, with four hospitals and a network of clinics offering the finest primary, secondary and tertiary health care services.
